Our Team




Maha Elsherif is married to Walid Ahmed who is currently serving as the secretary of ISA’s EC. They live in Evans with their 3 children, two in university and one in high school. When Maha is not working, she enjoys sewing, making crafts, and reading.

Maha has earned several degree including: a B.A. in Latin and Greek literature, University of Ain Shams; a B.A. in Italian Language, University of Ain Shams; and Master in Arts of Teaching with a concentration in Early Childhood Education, Georgia Regents University (Augusta University) in 2014.  Maha is certified as a school teacher by the state of Georgia .

Maha has several years of work experience as an educator. Maha started her career as an educator working as a Substitute Teacher in Henrico County School System, VA, from 2008 until moving to Georgia in 2010. While Maha was earning her Master in Arts of Teaching (MAT) degree, she had multiple internships in Columbia county School System, from 2011 until 2014. After earning her certification, Maha worked as Substitute Teacher/Teacher Assistant in Columbia County School System from 2014 until 2017. Currently Maha is working as Coach/ Teacher at Augusta Islamic Academy 2017-2018.

Maha also volunteers as an Islamic Studies teacher at the ISA Sunday School.
